Advances in Complex Systems

Today's cities are extremely complex systems, making the goal of improving sustainability in their constituent mechanisms very challenging.

How, then, can the goal of zero emissions be achieved?

The Lake Como Summer School "Advances in Complex Systems: Addressing the Zero-Emission Goal for Urban well-being" addresses these issues through a series of dedicated lectures and workshop activities.

This is the fourth school in a series, promoted by the Lake Como School of Advanced Studies, that addresses the general properties of complex systems from an interdisciplinary perspective. The lectures will address the topic of decarbonisation of cities with the aim of achieving zero emissions (an objective belonging to the EU mission "100 climate neutral cities@2030"), tackling the different dimensions involved, combining statistics, computer science, urban studies, physics, mathematics and biomedicine.

The school is open to graduate students, PhD students and post-doctoral researchers interested in the objects under analysis.

Activities will take place at the Villa del Grumello, Como, from 1 to 5 July 2024
Application deadline: 30 April 2024
